Man, these Windows tablets just keep getting cheaper and cheaper! Microsoft went after adorable Android slates by taking the Windows license fees out of the equation.

And this strategy now seems be paying off.

The past few months have seen several Windows 8.1 tablets launching (or reaching) double digit price points. And now the WinBook TW70CA17 just takes this to another level. This is a 7-inch slate, with a ridiculously low price tag of just $59.99.

A look at the specifications:

  • Intel Bay Trail Z3735G 1.33GHz quad-core processor
  • 7-inch IPS LCD screen
  • 1280 x 800 display resolution
  • 1GB RAM
  • 16GB flash storage
  • Support for microSD card
  • 2 megapixel front and rear cameras
  • USB 2.0, microUSB, microHDMI port
  • 5mm audio jack

Granted it is only available for in-store pickup at Micro Center, and it’s not the thinnest tablet around with dimensions of 7.44 x 0.43 x 4.7 inches, but for basic computation tasks, you cannot ask for more at this remarkable price.
